Gujarat SEC Extends Polling Duty Until Election Material Is Returned
Gujarat is holding local elections on October 11.
After voting ends, election workers must take voting materials to a receiving centre.
Sometimes this trip and handover take until late at night or the next morning.
The State Election Commission says workers are still on election duty until they hand over the materials.
They do not have to return to their usual offices while finishing this work.
Votes will be counted on October 13.
