Starlink Experiences Global Outage, Service Partially Restored
Imagine your internet comes from a bunch of satellites in space.
Starlink is one of those satellite internet providers.
Recently, their service went down for a few hours all over the world.
This meant many people couldn't get online.
The company said it was a problem with their internal software.
They're working hard to fix the issue and make sure it doesn't happen again.
The outage also came just after they announced a new service with T-Mobile that aims to connect phones directly to satellites, even in remote areas.
Starlink experienced a major global network outage lasting approximately 2.5 hours, impacting tens of thousands of users.
The outage was caused by a failure in key internal software services that operate the core network, according to Starlink.
The disruption occurred just one day after Starlink and T-Mobile announced a new direct-to-cell satellite connectivity service.
Over 60,000 users reported issues, with many experiencing a total blackout of service.
Elon Musk and Starlink are working to remedy the root cause of the outage and prevent future occurrences.
