SpaceX’s $100 Billion Louisiana Spaceport Promises 11,100 Jobs
SpaceX plans to build a very large spaceport in Louisiana.
The spaceport will be called Starbase Louisiana.
It will launch Starship spacecraft many times.
SpaceX says it could eventually have more than a dozen launch towers.
The site could support more than 30 flights each day.
The project is expected to create over 11,100 jobs.
About 3,000 of those would be direct jobs at the facility.
The remaining jobs would be created indirectly in the surrounding region.
Louisiana officials say the investment could make the state more important in the space industry.
SpaceX plans to invest $100 billion in Starbase Louisiana, a launch facility in Vermilion Parish.
The project is expected to create 3,000 direct jobs and more than 8,100 indirect jobs over 10 years.
Direct positions are projected to pay an average annual salary of $92,600.
The facility is planned to have more than a dozen launch towers and support over 30 Starship flights daily.
Louisiana officials say the project will strengthen the state’s aerospace industry and expand launch access.
