Surat's Sarvajanik Education Society: From School to University
Once upon a time, two friends in Surat wanted to make school affordable for everyone.
They started a school called The English School, also known as Doll School.
The school charged very little money.
Over time, the school grew and became a big organization called Sarvajanik Education Society (SES).
Now, SES runs many schools, colleges, and research centers.
They help students who can't afford fees with scholarships and hostels.
They aim to keep education accessible to all and have plans to build a hospital and medical college in the future.
Sarvajanik Education Society (SES) was founded in 1905 by two friends to provide affordable education.
The first school, The English School, charged low fees compared to other schools.
SES was registered as a philanthropic organization in 1912.
SES runs 32 educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and research centers.
The Gujarat government granted SES private university status in 2021.
