Author's Book on Babur Cancels Lit Fest Session
Aabhas Maldahiyar is an author who wrote a book about Babur, the first Mughal Emperor.
He was invited to talk about his book at a big book festival in Bhopal, India.
But some people protested, saying they thought the book made Babur look good, which they didn't like.
The police said there might be trouble, so the festival organizers decided to cancel the talk.
Maldahiyar says his book doesn't make Babur look good, but tells the true story.
He used to believe in Marxism but now writes about Indian history and politics.
He also wrote a book about why he thinks Prime Minister Modi is good for India.
Some people support him, like a famous lawyer who said Maldahiyar should be encouraged to keep writing.
Aabhas Maldahiyar's session on his book 'Babur: The Quest for Hindustan' was cancelled at the Bhopal Literature and Art Festival due to protests and police warnings.
Maldahiyar, an architect-turned-author, initially supported Marxism but later became interested in Indian history and politics.
His first book, '#Modi Again: Why Modi is Right for India', was written as a counter to a social media post listing reasons not to vote for Modi.
The cancellation was attributed to false reports alleging Maldahiyar intended to glorify Babur, which he denies.
Supreme Court advocate J Sai Deepak supported Maldahiyar, encouraging him to continue his work.
