Assam CM defends Zubeen Garg chargesheet
The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has strongly defended the chargesheet filed in the murder case of singer Zubeen Garg.
He questioned how opposition leaders could criticize a document that hasn't been tested in court yet.
Sarma said their claims show a lack of seriousness and are politically motivated.
He emphasized that the strength of the chargesheet will be decided by the judicial process, not by political opinions.
The opposition, however, alleges that the chargesheet is weak and lacks concrete evidence.
They want more proof, witnesses, and seizure of crime instruments.
Additionally, a public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed seeking a CBI probe into Garg's death.
The petitioners argue that the chargesheet is extensive and requires careful scrutiny.
The next hearing for the PIL is scheduled for March 13, and the trial court hearing is set for December 22.
