FAA warns airlines on Central, South American flights

FAA warns airlines on Central, South American flights

The FAA, which is like the boss of airplane safety in the U.S., told airlines to be extra careful when flying over some parts of Central and South America.

They said there might be some military stuff happening and problems with GPS in those areas.

The places they're worried about include Mexico, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, and some other nearby countries, as well as parts of the ocean near there.

The FAA wants airlines to know about these risks so they can keep their flights safe.

The warnings will last for 60 days.

There was also a recent incident where a JetBlue plane had to quickly change its path to avoid hitting a US military plane near Venezuela.

Some people think the US might take more military action in the area, but Mexico says the warnings don't affect their airspace.
