RBI Governor: Rate Cuts Transmitted, Loan Rates Fall
The head of India's central bank says that interest rate cuts are helping people get loans at lower rates.
He explained that the central bank has lowered interest rates, and this is making it cheaper for people and businesses to borrow money.
This is a sign that the central bank's policies are working as planned, encouraging borrowing and economic activity.
Even though the growth of new loans has slowed down a bit, it's still doing well compared to how things have been in the past.
The bank is also prepared to use other tools if needed, and the next meeting to discuss interest rates is coming up soon.
RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra says monetary policy transmission is healthy.
New loan rates have fallen by at least 50 basis points in June.
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) reduced the repo rate by 100 basis points.
Credit growth slowed to 9.5% but is still robust compared to the last decade.
The next MPC meeting is scheduled in about 10 days.
