Cyber Fraudsters Duped Victims in Mumbai and Indore

In Mumbai, a 63-year-old man was tricked by cyber fraudsters who pretended to be officials from the Data Protection Board and the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

They threatened him with a 'digital arrest' and told him his bank accounts would be frozen unless he transferred ₹5 lakh.

In Indore, a 43-year-old school teacher was scammed out of ₹97,500 after fraudsters used AI to clone her brother's voice and asked her to pay for a fake medical emergency.

Both victims realized they had been duped and reported the incidents to the police.

The Mumbai police have registered a case and are investigating the fraud.
