Karnataka HC to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in land grab case
The Karnataka High Court told Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to fix some mistakes in his court papers.
He asked the court to cancel a police report about him taking public land in Bengaluru.
The court said he needs to swear an affidavit saying the things in his papers are true.
A lawyer for the government said the affidavit was not signed by Ravi Shankar but by someone else, which is not allowed.
The court said if Ravi Shankar does not fix the mistakes, they will cancel their earlier order that stopped the police from investigating further.
Karnataka High Court directed Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to correct defects in his petition.
The petition seeks to quash an FIR alleging encroachment of public land in Bengaluru.
The court noted that an affidavit was not sworn by Ravi Shankar but by a devotee.
The court warned it would vacate the interim order if the defects are not cured.
The interim order was passed on January 13, staying further investigation in the case.
