NHAI Introduces Digital Local Toll Pass
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced a new feature called the 'local pass' on the Rajmargyatra Mobile App.
This allows people who live within 20 kilometers of a toll plaza to buy a pass digitally.
This pass lets them travel through the toll plaza as many times as they want in a month.
Before, people had to go to the toll plaza in person to get this pass.
Now, they can do it all online in just a few minutes.
The app uses government digital platforms like DigiLocker and VAHAN to check if someone is eligible.
This makes the process easier and more accurate.
NHAI has also added a new help center called 'MargMitra' in the app.
This help center can answer questions, help with problems, and even take complaints in 22 different Indian languages.
People can type or speak their questions, and the app will help them.
The help center can also check things like FASTag status, refunds, and road safety issues.
NHAI is encouraging everyone to use the Rajmargyatra Mobile App to make traveling on National Highways safer and more convenient.
Residents within 20 km of toll plazas can now buy local passes digitally through the Rajmargyatra Mobile App.
The digital process eliminates the need for physical visits to toll plazas and supporting documents.
The first digital local toll pass was introduced at the Mundka – Bakkarwala Toll Plaza in Delhi.
The initiative uses DigiLocker and VAHAN for verified details and GIS-based verification for eligibility.
NHAI has also introduced 'MargMitra' Help Centre, an intelligent digital assistance platform within the Rajmargyatra Mobile App.
