UP Power Demand Hits Record High Amid Heatwave, Surpassing Other States
UP is using more electricity than ever before, breaking its own records and using more than other big states.
This is because it's very hot, and people are using air conditioners and coolers a lot.
Even though everyone is using so much electricity, the power company says they're keeping the lights on.
However, some people in the government are complaining about not having enough power, saying that not enough new electricity is being made.
Uttar Pradesh (UP) recorded its highest-ever power consumption, reaching 31,347 MW on June 11-12.
This record surpassed the previous one set on June 9 and exceeds consumption of states like Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Increased demand is attributed to extreme heat and humidity leading to higher use of cooling appliances.
Despite record demand, officials claim grid stability is maintained, and no load shedding is implemented.
Political opposition criticized the government for failing to expand electricity production.
