Andhra Pradesh Power Demand Peaks at 290 MU Daily

Andhra Pradesh is using much more electricity than it did last year.

Daily use rose from 240 million units to 290 million units.

Hotter weather made people use more air-conditioners and air-coolers.

The state also received much less rain than usual.

From April to May, it bought 15,673 million units of electricity.

This power cost about ₹8,093 crore.

Electricity from the state’s thermal plants, solar projects, wind projects, and other sources helped meet demand.

The average price per unit was slightly lower than last year.

The energy minister said officials are working to keep electricity available without power cuts.
