Bombay Lawyers Association Condemns Restrictions on CJP Protests

The Cockroach Janata Party held protests in Delhi against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The protests concern changes to electoral rolls called the Special Intensive Revision.

The Bombay Lawyers Association said restrictions on protesting and moving around should end.

It called those restrictions an “undeclared emergency.”

The association passed its resolution at an emergency meeting on October 10.

Reports said police detained more than 2,000 people at the demonstrations.

Several CJP leaders were also reportedly detained.

The article says Ajinkya Shinde was expected to lead the protest until those leaders were released.
