Russian Court Seizes 123 Jehovah’s Witnesses Properties Assets

A court in Moscow took 123 buildings and land that belonged to Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The properties were owned by the Swedish branch of the group.

They had 63 houses and shops and 60 pieces of land.

The total size of the buildings was more than 11,000 square metres and the land was 5.6 hectares.

The court gave all of these to the Russian government.

This means the Jehovah’s Witnesses no longer own them.

The reason for the move was a court decision.

The move happened on July 31, 2024.

It shows how the Russian court can take property from religious groups.
