Jharkhand Approves PESA Rules for Tribal Empowerment
The government of Jharkhand has approved special rules called PESA to help tribal communities govern themselves better.
These rules will give more power to local tribal councils, called Gram Sabhas, to make decisions about their land, forests, and other resources.
The Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, said this is an important step to honor the wishes of the people who founded Jharkhand.
Tribal leaders are happy because these rules will make their traditional ways of governing official.
Meanwhile, a big event called PESA Mahotsav was held in Visakhapatnam, where tribal communities from all over India showed their talents and celebrated their culture.
The event also launched new initiatives to support tribal empowerment and governance.
Jharkhand's Cabinet approved the Panchayat (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Rules (PESA) to strengthen tribal self-governance.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren emphasized the importance of PESA in reinforcing traditional governance systems and securing community rights.
The rules aim to empower Gram Sabhas as decision-making bodies in tribal regions.
The PESA Mahotsav in Visakhapatnam celebrated tribal culture and empowerment, featuring cultural performances, exhibitions, and the launch of new initiatives.
