Kotak Mahindra Bank Board to Consider Share Split on Nov 21
Imagine you have one big cookie, but it's hard to share.
A share split is like breaking that big cookie into smaller, easier-to-share pieces.
Kotak Mahindra Bank is thinking about doing this with its company shares.
Their board of directors will meet on November 21 to decide.
Right now, each share is worth Rs 5.
Breaking them into more pieces doesn't change the total amount of cookie (or company value) you have.
It just makes it easier for more people to buy and sell these smaller pieces.
The bank has done something similar before, like in 2010 when they split shares, and in 2015 when they gave everyone an extra share.
Kotak Mahindra Bank's board will meet on November 21 to consider a proposal for splitting its equity shares.
The bank's shares currently have a face value of Rs 5 each.
A share split increases the number of shares outstanding without altering the total market value.
The primary goal of a share split is to enhance stock liquidity and affordability for traders.
Kotak Mahindra Bank previously conducted a share split in 2010 and issued bonus shares in 2015.
