Mother Rabri Devi Caught Between Sons Tej Pratap and Tejashwi in Bihar Elections
Imagine two brothers, Tej Pratap and Tejashwi, who are also political rivals in their state of Bihar.
Their father, Lalu Yadav, kicked Tej Pratap out of their family's political party because he acted irresponsibly.
Now, Tej Pratap has started his own small party and is running against his own brother, Tejashwi.
Their mom, Rabri Devi, used to be the leader too.
She feels like a mom to both and wishes them both good luck, even though her husband, Lalu, clearly wants Tejashwi to win and lead the state.
Their dad thinks Tejashwi is needed to help Bihar grow, like a roti that will burn if it stays on the pan too long.
The family, except for Tej Pratap, supported Tejashwi during voting day, while Tej Pratap voted separately.
Tejashwi is confident he will win and form a new government.
Rabri Devi, mother of Tej Pratap and Tejashwi Yadav, expressed well wishes for both sons competing in the Bihar elections.
Tej Pratap Yadav is contesting independently with his own party, Janshakti Janata Dal, after being expelled from the RJD by his father, Lalu Yadav.
Lalu Yadav, RJD patriarch, favors his younger son Tejashwi Yadav to lead Bihar, comparing the need for change to roti on a hot pan.
Tejashwi Yadav is the chief ministerial candidate for the Mahagathbandhan alliance and is confident of forming a new government.
The Yadav family, including Lalu, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi with his wife, participated in voting, while Tej Pratap voted separately.
