Google Pixel 11 Reviews Put Software and AI Ahead
Google’s new Pixel phones look a lot like last year’s models.
They have some new colours and a redesigned camera bar, but the overall shape is familiar.
Their biggest improvements come from software and artificial intelligence, rather than new hardware.
An AI dictation tool called Rambler can remove filler words and understand English, Hinglish, and Punjabi.
Pixel Recorder can turn spoken interviews into written words without requiring a subscription.
Gemini can also give reminders and help with tasks.
The Pixel 11 Pro XL takes excellent photos and has a very bright screen.
Both phones last a full day on one charge.
However, the reviewer says some AI features feel like gimmicks and questions whether people want AI involved in everything.
Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro XL retain familiar designs, with updated colours and a redesigned glass-covered camera bar.
The phones use Google’s Tensor G6 processor, offer seven years of software support, and start with 256GB of storage.
The Pixel 11 Pro XL adds a 3,600-nit display, upgraded cameras, 120x zoom, and improved low-light photography.
AI features including Rambler dictation, Pixel Recorder, Call Screen, and Gemini suggestions are useful but unevenly implemented.
Both phones offer strong all-day battery life, but their higher prices and limited hardware changes may concern buyers.

AI and Software Benefits
Features such as Rambler dictation, Pixel Recorder, Call Screen, and Gemini reminders can simplify everyday tasks and were useful to the reviewer.
AI and Hardware Concerns
Many AI features are used infrequently, feel unevenly designed, and may encourage users to rely on artificial intelligence instead of their own skills.
Hardware innovation
AI and Software Benefits
The phones bring improved cameras, brighter displays, more base storage, strong battery life, and a redesigned camera bar.
AI and Hardware Concerns
The overall design remains familiar, hardware innovation appears to have plateaued, and the phones are more expensive than last year’s models.
Pixel 11 Pro XL RAM
AI and Software Benefits
Google says reducing RAM from 16GB on the base model to 12GB should not significantly affect performance because of improvements in hardware and software.
AI and Hardware Concerns
The reviewer questions the reduction because the phones are more expensive and may be less appealing to gamers; the claim was not independently tested because the review unit had 16GB of RAM.
