Google Launches Emergency Location Service in India

Google has launched a new service called Emergency Location Service (ELS) for Android users in India.

This service helps emergency responders like police or ambulance find the exact location of a person who calls 112 in an emergency.

It uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile network data to pinpoint the location within a 50-meter radius.

The service is currently available in Uttar Pradesh and will soon expand to other states.

It works on Android phones running version 6.0 or later and does not require any additional app or hardware.

The location information is sent directly to emergency services and is not collected by Google, ensuring privacy.

This service is already operational in over 60 countries and has helped save lives by enabling timely emergency responses.
