Pune Metro Line 3 Nears Readiness, But Launch Date Unclear
Pune Metro Line 3 will connect Hinjawadi and Shivajinagar.
It is planned to run through areas including Wakad and Balewadi.
Workers are fixing small problems found during a safety inspection.
These repairs are expected to take another 10 to 12 days.
Then 17 of the 23 stations should be ready for passengers.
However, PMRDA cannot choose the opening date.
Higher authorities must give permission before the trains can start carrying people.
The other stations are expected to be completed by December 2026.
Ticket prices will be announced shortly before the service begins.

After the repairs, 17 of Metro Line 3’s 23 stations across the 23-kilometre Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar corridor will be ready.

The remaining stations are expected to be completed by December 2026, with a further three-month extension allowed for minor works.
Fares have not been finalised, while PMRDA is also advancing river pollution, encroachment, Chakan roads and waste-management projects.
