Onir Honored with Gay Bombay Icon Award

Onir, a filmmaker who is open about his identity as a queer person, was given an award called the Gay Bombay Icon Award.

This award is given out by an LGBTQ+ organization in India that works to support the rights of queer people.

Onir has made movies that tell the stories of LGBTQ+ people, which weren't always told in Indian movies.

He says he often felt alone in the industry at the beginning, but that the support of the community helped him keep going.

The award celebrates the importance of sharing LGBTQ+ stories and working towards a more inclusive society.
