India and Canada Agree to Deepen Security Cooperation

Officials from India and Canada met in New Delhi to talk about security.

They agreed to work more closely against terrorism, organized crime, trafficking, cybercrime and extortion.

They also discussed helping each other with the extradition of criminal offenders.

The countries may set up regular talks about cybersecurity and economic security.

The officials reviewed a security plan agreed in February 2026 and discussed expanding defence ties.

They also welcomed efforts to move forward with a trade agreement.

The meeting was part of regular security discussions between the two countries.

Their relationship has improved over the past year after a period of strain.
