West Bengal Police to Use AI to Enhance Crime Prevention
The police in West Bengal want to use smart computer programs called Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help them stop crimes.
They are creating a special team, like a new department, inside the police headquarters to work with AI.
This team will have police officers and special technology experts.
The main police chief has given instructions for this new team.
Their job will be to use AI to help with everything the police do, like solving mysteries, managing records, and even training other officers.
The government will give them money and help to get started.
They will also figure out how to use AI fairly and openly.
This new AI team will be a big helper for the police in catching bad guys and keeping the state safe.
West Bengal Police are establishing an Artificial Intelligence (AI) cell to combat crime.
The initiative, spearheaded by DGP Rajeev Kumar, aims to make police more technology-dependent and efficient.
The AI cell will be led by an Additional DG and supported by expert technologists.
The cell's responsibilities include policy-making, coordination, documentation, and training related to AI.
AI will serve as a partner in investigation, crime analysis, and data analysis for the state police.
