Hyderabad Launches C-Mitra for Cybercrime FIRs
The Hyderabad police have started a new service called C-Mitra to help people who have been tricked online.
Instead of going to the police station, people can call a special number or use a website to report the crime.
The police will then help them write a complaint and send it to the police.
The police will register the complaint and send a message to the person.
This service is only for people in Hyderabad and is available from 8 am to 8 pm.
The police will not ask for money or special codes and will only help with registering the complaint, not with investigating or getting the money back.
Hyderabad police launched C-Mitra, a virtual help desk for cybercrime FIR registration.
Victims can report cyber fraud by calling '1930' or using the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
Virtual Police Officers will draft and send a complaint to the victim for signature and submission.
FIRs will be registered for losses exceeding Rs. 3 lakh, with lower amounts transferred to local police.
C-Mitra operates from 8 am to 8 pm, supported by a 24-member team with AI tools.
