Meghalaya CM Funds Sports Associations for National Games
The government of Meghalaya gave about 40 crore rupees to different sports groups.
This money is to help athletes get ready for the National Games in 2027, which Meghalaya will host.
The special thing is, the sports groups get to decide how to use the money – like hiring coaches or buying equipment.
The government hopes this will build a strong future for sports in the state and wants the teams to win many medals.
Meghalaya CM Sangma disbursed Rs 40 crore to 26 sports associations.
Funds are allocated for preparing athletes for the 2027 National Games.
This is the first time funds are given directly to the sports associations.
Associations have full autonomy in how to spend the funds.
