Manipur to Export White Sticky Rice to Japan
Manipur, a state in India, is going to send a special kind of white sticky rice called Chakhao to Japan.
They already sent a black version of this rice before.
This time, they will send a small amount, about 20 tons, to try it out in Japan.
This agreement was made at a big rice meeting in New Delhi.
It's a way to share Manipur's special rice with people in other countries.
Manipur is planning to export a white sticky rice variety, Chakhao, to Japan.
This follows the successful export of Manipur's indigenous black sticky rice.
An MoU was signed with Japan for a trial export of 20 metric tonnes of white sticky rice.
The agreement was finalized during the 1st Bharat International Rice Conference in New Delhi.
The conference took place from October 30-31, organized by APEDA.
