Panjab University Introduces RFID Smart ID Cards
Panjab University has started giving special smart ID cards to its employees.
These cards use a technology called RFID to keep the campus safe.
The cards have a picture and important information about the person, all stored in a special code.
This code can't be changed, and if someone tries to make a fake card, it won't work.
The university plans to give these cards to students too, starting with those living in university hostels.
This is part of their plan to make the campus more secure and modern.
Panjab University has introduced RFID-based smart identity cards for employees to enhance campus security.
The cards feature encrypted personal data and photographs encoded in a QR code and RFID tag.
The initiative aims to authenticate bona fide employees and prevent unauthorized entry.
PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Renu Vig plans to extend the smart cards to students, starting with hostels.
The encoded data on the cards is unalterable, and any attempt to create counterfeit cards renders the code unreadable.
