Karnataka CM Shivakumar Heads to Delhi Amid Water, Cabinet Issues

Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar will travel to New Delhi on August 27.

He plans to meet Union ministers and lawyers who represent Karnataka in the Supreme Court.

They will discuss disagreements about Cauvery River water.

A water authority has directed Karnataka to ensure that 9,000 cusecs of water flows to Tamil Nadu for 15 days.

Shivakumar might also meet senior Congress leaders, but this has not been officially confirmed.

He may discuss changing a few Cabinet ministers.

Opposition parties want Minister B Nagendra removed over alleged misuse of money at a state-run corporation.

Nagendra’s office says reports that he offered to resign are untrue.

The BJP also plans a 10-day march to criticize the Karnataka government.
