TMC Delegation Accuses ECI of Vote Theft
A group from the Trinamool Congress party in India, led by Abhishek Banerjee, met with the top election officials in Delhi.
They accused the officials of stealing votes by changing the list of people who can vote.
The TMC said the officials did not answer their questions and acted rudely.
They also said that many people's names were wrongly removed from the voting list.
The TMC wants the officials to explain what happened and make things fair.
The election officials have not said much in response yet.
TMC delegation led by Abhishek Banerjee met with the ECI to discuss allegations of vote theft and discrepancies in the electoral rolls.
TMC claims that the ECI is manipulating electoral rolls and did not provide concrete answers to their questions during the meeting.
Over 58.2 lakh names were deleted from the draft electoral rolls, raising concerns about the fairness of the process.
The TMC delegation alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar interrupted them and lost his temper during the meeting.
The claims and objections period for the electoral rolls is ongoing until January 15, 2024, with the final electoral roll to be published on February 14, 2024.
