Kellogg’s Trafford Park Closure Ends 88 Years of Cereal Production

Kellogg’s Trafford Park Closure Ends 88 Years of Cereal Production

Kellogg’s has stopped making cereal at its Trafford Park factory after 88 years.

The factory made famous cereals such as Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies and Coco Pops.

It could once produce about one million boxes every day.

The company says the old building was too expensive to update and was not being fully used.

Cereal production has moved to a factory in Wrexham.

About 360 jobs are affected, although some workers can receive help to move.

The factory will stay open until the end of 2026 to finish closing down.

Local leaders say the closure is a major loss for the community and its industrial history.
