India Expands Fuel and Gas Infrastructure
India has made big improvements in its fuel and gas infrastructure.
The country now has over 1,00,000 petrol pumps, which is double the number from 2015.
Most of these pumps are owned by government companies, but there are also some private ones.
The government has also been working to provide more clean cooking fuel to people through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, which has given LPG connections to over 10.35 crore people.
They have also made it easier and cheaper to get LPG by giving subsidies and doing safety checks.
Additionally, India has been expanding its natural gas pipelines and promoting electric vehicles by setting up more charging stations.
All these efforts are aimed at making energy more accessible, affordable, and cleaner for everyone in the country.
India's petrol pump network has crossed the 1,00,000-mark, doubling since 2015.
Over 90% of the pumps are owned by state-owned firms like IOC, BPCL, and HPCL.
Nayara Energy Ltd is the largest private fuel retailer with 6,921 outlets.
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has provided LPG connections to over 10.35 crore beneficiaries.
India's operational natural gas pipeline network has expanded to over 25,400 km.
