India Targets $500 Billion Electronics Production by 2030
India wants to make a lot of electronics, like phones and chips, right inside its borders.
Right now it makes about $330 billion worth of these items each year.
By 2030, the government wants that number to grow to $500 billion.
They plan to help companies by giving them incentives and building new factories for making chips.
If they keep going, by 2047 India could be making between $5.3 trillion and $8 trillion of electronics every year.
The goal is to make India a big player in the world’s electronics market and help the country grow.
India plans to increase annual electronics and semiconductor production to $500 billion by 2030, up from $330 billion today.
The target is part of the Viksit Bharat roadmap, aligning with the 2047 vision of becoming a developed nation.
The plan includes expanding Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes and building semiconductor fabrication and packaging facilities.
By 2047, India projects electronics output between $5.3 trillion and $8 trillion.
DPIIT Secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia said the targets will unlock significant manufacturing opportunities and support economic growth.
