Andhra Pradesh Tests Danish Fibre Technology Against Potholes

Andhra Pradesh Tests Danish Fibre Technology Against Potholes

Andhra Pradesh is testing a new way to make roads stronger.

The test is taking place on a road that carries many heavy trucks.

These trucks and the rainy season often cause cracks and potholes.

Tiny fibres from Denmark are mixed into the hot material used to build the road.

The fibres help spread force through the road instead of letting cracks start in one place.

The company says the method can reduce deep grooves and cracking.

Officials hope the road will last up to half as long again as a normal road.

They will watch it during the monsoon before deciding whether to use the technology elsewhere.
