Wall Street flat in shortened Christmas Eve trading
On Christmas Eve, the stock market in New York, called Wall Street, didn't go up or down much.
The Dow Jones, S&P 500, and Nasdaq, which are like report cards for different groups of companies, all stayed almost the same.
The Dow Jones went down a tiny bit, the S&P 500 went down a little, and the Nasdaq also went down a little.
This happened because it was a short trading day, and not as many people were buying or selling stocks.
Wall Street stock indices were flat in shortened Christmas Eve trading on Wednesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 42.67 points, or 0.09%, to 48,399.74.
The S&P 500 lost 0.70 points, or 0.01%, to 6,909.09.
The Nasdaq Composite dipped 25.58 points, or 0.06%, to 23,542.31.
The market performance was minimal due to the holiday-shortened trading session.
