DRI Seizes ₹9 Crore of Pakistani Goods at Nhava Sheva Port
Indian authorities found some goods that were not supposed to be in the country.
These goods came from Pakistan, but the people bringing them in said they were from somewhere else to get around a ban.
The ban was put in place because of a past act of violence.
Customs officials, called the DRI, seized the goods which were worth a lot of money and weighed over a thousand tons.
They also arrested someone involved in this scheme, who tried to hide the origin of these illegal goods.
DRI seized 39 containers of Pakistani-origin goods at Nhava Sheva Port.
The goods, valued at ₹9 crore, weighed 1,115 metric tonnes.
Imports from Pakistan are banned since May 2, 2025, due to the Pahalgam terror attack.
Goods were falsely declared as UAE-origin to bypass the ban.
Investigations revealed the goods originated in Pakistan and transshipped via Dubai.
