Maharashtra Forms Panel to Review Student Council Elections

Maharashtra Forms Panel to Review Student Council Elections

The Maharashtra government wants universities to hold student council elections in a clear and organized way.

It has created a committee of 12 education experts to study how this should happen.

Suhas Pednekar will lead the committee.

The group must give its report to the government within one month.

It will look for ways to keep elections focused on students and away from outside political or business influence.

It will also consider fair representation for different social groups and student activities.

The committee will study whether students can nominate candidates, vote, and submit complaints online.

It will also suggest rules for council money and training for student representatives.
