Honda Unveils Next-Generation Hybrid Platform for Future India-Bound Models
Honda has introduced a new design for its hybrid car systems that will be used for cars coming to places like India starting in 2027.
This new design is lighter, making the cars weigh about 90 kilograms less than before.
It also has a special way of flexing to help the car handle better when it turns or brakes.
Honda is using knowledge from its robots to help the cars stay steady while driving.
The parts of this new system are designed to be used in over 60% of different types of cars, which helps Honda build them faster and cheaper.
This means future Honda cars will be more efficient, more fun to drive, and easier for Honda to produce for different countries.
Honda unveiled its next-generation midsize hybrid platform at a workshop in Tokyo, with models expected from 2027.
The new platform is 90kg lighter and has improved body rigidity and modularity, allowing over 60% parts commonality.
It features optimized body flex for better load distribution and a Motion Management System for enhanced stability and handling.
Upgraded Agile Handling Assist with integrated pitch control is included to maintain vehicle composure.
This platform will underpin several of Honda's planned 10 new models for India by 2030, focusing on efficiency and driving engagement.
