Former Iranian Minister Calls for Iranian Control over Strait of Hormuz
An ex-Iranian official wants Iran to control who can go through the Strait of Hormuz, a very narrow sea passage where a lot of the world's oil travels.
He said that ships carrying oil and gas would need permission from Iran, starting Wednesday, and that this would last for 100 days.
This comes after some recent problems between Iran and other countries.
The Strait is really important because about a fifth of all the oil used every day goes through it.
The official thinks this is an important decision because it may have the impact of reducing other problems.

Khandouzi proposed that tankers and LNG cargoes require Iranian permission for transit.
The proposed policy would be implemented for 100 days starting Wednesday.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical waterway for global oil transit, with approximately 20% of daily oil consumption passing through it.
