Delhi Eases Private School Opening Rules
The Delhi government has made it easier to open private schools.
They removed the need for a special certificate that said a new school was needed in an area.
Now, schools can open if they say they meet the rules for good education.
This change makes it simpler and faster to start a school.
The government also made it easier to find land for schools because there isn't much space in Delhi.
They want to make sure all schools are good and safe for children.
Delhi government replaces Essentiality Certificate with self-certification for opening private schools.
Reforms aim to streamline the recognition process and reduce regulatory compliance.
Schools must self-declare compliance with RTE Act standards, including infrastructure and teacher qualifications.
Rule 44(3) and Rule 50(ii) of the Delhi School Education Rules, 1973, have been amended.
Minimum land area requirement for private schools has been relaxed due to urban density.
