Apple Releases iOS 27.0.1 Fixing Face ID, Camera, Touchscreen Bugs
Apple released a small software update called iOS 27.0.1.
It fixes problems on some newer iPhones.
A failed Face ID check could sometimes make an iPhone freeze or restart.
The update also fixes a strange color mark that could appear in some 2× zoom photos.
That camera problem happened under certain lighting conditions.
The touchscreen could also stop responding if two control panels were opened together.
Apple released bug fixes for iPads too.
Several Mac updates include bug fixes, performance improvements and security patches.
People can install the iPhone update in Settings, General and Software Update.
iOS 27.0.1 fixes a problem that could make iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max devices freeze or restart after failed Face ID authentication.
The update corrects a color artifact that could appear in photos taken at 2× zoom on some iPhone 18 Pro models.
The camera issue occurred under certain lighting conditions when the aperture was set to f/1.48 and 2× zoom was used.
Apple fixed an issue that could make the touchscreen unresponsive when Notification Center and Control Center were opened simultaneously.
Apple also released iPadOS 27.0.1, macOS 27.0.1 Golden Gate, macOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.8.1 with bug, performance and security improvements.
