Five NPP MLAs Merge With Nagaland’s Ruling NPF

Five lawmakers from the National People’s Party have joined the Naga People’s Front in Nagaland.

The Assembly Speaker has approved their merger.

The lawmakers said they made the decision voluntarily.

They also said they support Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

The NPF welcomed them into the party.

The party said the move would strengthen its regional role.

Earlier, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party had also merged with the NPF in October 2025.

The mergers are part of efforts to unite parties around a common Naga cause.

The NPF now has 39 lawmakers in the 60-seat Assembly.
