Zydus Lifesciences Acquires Agenus Manufacturing Units for $125M
Zydus Lifesciences, an Indian company, is buying two factories in California from Agenus, a company that makes medicine, for $125 million.
These factories make important medical products.
This helps Zydus start a new business helping other companies make their products too.
Zydus will also be the only company to make two of Agenus’s cancer treatments.
They will also be allowed to sell these medicines in India and Sri Lanka.
This deal will help Zydus expand its business in the U.S. and create more jobs.
Zydus Lifesciences will acquire two biologics manufacturing facilities from Agenus in California.
The deal is worth $125 million, with $75 million upfront and $50 million in contingent payments.
Zydus will become an exclusive contract manufacturer for Agenus, producing two immuno-oncology products.
