ISRO Staff Bodies Seek Clarity on Reported Privatisation Push

ISRO Staff Bodies Seek Clarity on Reported Privatisation Push

Nine groups representing ISRO staff have written to the agency’s chief, V. Narayanan.

They want more information about reported plans to involve private companies in ISRO activities.

The letter says the SSLV’s technology and production rights have already been given to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

It says the same could happen with the PSLV and LVM3.

The groups are also concerned that public sector companies might be left out.

They say routine satellite manufacturing could move away from ISRO.

They also say private companies may be allowed to operate the new Kulasekarapattinam launch site.

The report describes these developments as reported proposals rather than confirmed details.
