Bumrah Out, Nabi Called Up for Sri Lanka Test Series
India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah can’t play the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka because he still has a knee injury.
The cricket board has chosen a new bowler, Auqib Nabi, who has been very good in domestic games.
Nabi is the first player from Jammu and Kashmir to get a spot on the national team.
The series will start in Galle on August 15 and finish in Colombo on August 23.
Another player, Sai Sudharsan, will only play if he passes a fitness test.
Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of India’s two-Test series against Sri Lanka due to a left knee injury.
Auqib Nabi, an uncapped fast bowler from Jammu and Kashmir, replaces Bumrah and earns his first senior India call‑up.
Nabi took 104 wickets in the last two Ranji Trophy seasons and helped Jammu and Kashmir win their first title.
Sai Sudharsan’s inclusion remains subject to fitness clearance.
The series starts in Galle on August 15 and continues in Colombo on August 23.
