BRS Party Sees Significant Drop in Donations After Election Losses
Imagine a political party, like a club that helps people.
This club used to get lots of money from supporters, but now it's getting much less.
This is because they didn't do very well in the last elections, like losing a big game.
In one year, they got over 580 crore rupees, but in the next year, they only got 15 crore rupees.
They got money from groups and some individual donations.
The way they got money before, called electoral bonds, was stopped.
The club has to tell the government how much money they get every year, like showing their bank statements.
This helps everyone see where the money comes from and how the club is doing.
BRS reported a sharp decline in donations for the 2024-2025 financial year.
The party received approximately Rs. 15 crore in donations.
This is a steep decrease from Rs. 580.52 crore received in 2023-2024.
The 2023-2024 donations included Rs. 85 crore from trusts and Rs. 495.52 crore via electoral bonds.
The electoral bonds scheme, which contributed to past funding, was scrapped by the Supreme Court.
