Andhra Pradesh Commercial Tax Collections Rise 18% in First Half

Andhra Pradesh collected more tax money in the first half of the 2026–27 financial year.

It collected about ₹30,436 crore in commercial taxes from April through September.

That was 18% more than during the same period a year earlier.

September was the state’s strongest month so far, with nearly ₹4,986 crore collected.

Net GST collections also increased by 18% during the first half.

Officials said better tax compliance, stronger checks and more economic activity helped.

They also used tools such as artificial intelligence, UPI data and information from other government departments.

The state said collections grew even while GST rate changes were being introduced.

The department said construction, machinery, metals, plastics and several service industries contributed to the increase.
