Nayara Energy Names New CEO After EU Sanctions
The boss of Nayara Energy, a company that has ties to Russia, has left his job because the European Union put sanctions on the company.
The company has now chosen a new boss, Sergey Denisov, who has been with Nayara since 2017.
The EU’s sanctions are not liked by Nayara, who has said they are unfair.
India also doesn't agree with the sanctions.
This is important because it shows how international rules and politics can change who is in charge of big businesses.
Nayara Energy CEO Alessandro des Dorides resigned following EU sanctions.
Sergey Denisov, a Nayara veteran, has been appointed as the new CEO.
Denisov's appointment was decided at a board meeting on Wednesday.
Nayara Energy is partly owned by Russian oil major Rosneft.
Nayara has condemned the EU's sanctions, with India also opposing them.
