Haryana Police Withdraws Security from 72 Individuals
The Haryana Police recently took away security guards from 72 people, including some politicians.
They said they did this because these people didn't really need the protection.
The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), which used to be friends with the ruling BJP, said this was unfair and that some of their leaders were still in danger.
The JJP also said that crime has gone up in Haryana and that the police chief should maybe step down.
The BJP said the security was taken away because some people were misusing it, not because of politics.
Additionally, the Haryana government has relieved IPS officer Shatrujeet Kapur from his DGP charge amid a controversy over an IPS officer's alleged suicide.
Kapur will now head the Haryana Police Housing Corporation.
Haryana Police withdrew security from 72 individuals, freeing up 200 Personal Security Officers.
The review was based on assessed threats, not political influence or public stature.
JJP leader Digvijay Chautala claimed the action was politically motivated and that four JJP leaders were affected.
Chautala criticized the state's law-and-order situation, citing high crime rates and recent incidents.
BJP leaders asserted that security is provided and withdrawn based on police assessment, not politics.
