Apple Adds iPhone 7 Plus and 8 to Vintage and Obsolete List
Apple regularly updates which devices it will still offer support for.
This time, they've marked some older iPhones as vintage or obsolete.
This means the iPhone 7 Plus and some iPhone 8 models are now considered vintage.
Vintage devices may have limited repair options.
Obsolete devices no longer receive hardware service from Apple.
This change reflects how long ago these devices were last sold and the availability of parts.
Apple added iPhone 7 Plus and specific iPhone 8 models to its vintage and obsolete products list.
iPhone 7 Plus launched in 2016 and was discontinued in 2019.
Specific iPhone 8 models (64GB and 256GB) are now considered vintage.
Vintage products are those out of sale for over five but less than seven years.
Obsolete products no longer receive hardware service from Apple.
